2019 is upon us!

“2019 is upon us!”

And the world is still of its hinges, and we keep hanging on as best as we can. I wish you all a Happy New Year and hope it’s going to be a good one.

2018 was a full year for me both career wise and in my life in general. A year of facing my own shortcomings and year of realizing what matters. And not to take that lightly.  I played ap 60 gigs and released an album with The Rambling Rodgers – my first release with Norwegian lyrics. Like my other album with the sensational The Rambling Rodgers “Tornado Tracks” from 2015 – this album, “De nære ting” is a country rock-album. Maybe leaning a little more to rock. It was released in October and we are still in the process of launching it. Proud!

I am currently working on some music for another solo-album with my producer Per Ladegård and Nashville-based recording artist and performer Kinsey Rose, and also, we will write another album for The Muskogee Hotel Explosion – no release plans as of yet, but I will keep you posted.

Thank you so much for the interest and support of my music! Spin it on Spotify or other streaming services or visit my e-shop. Peace and Love!

New year 2018

«The end and a beginning!»

2017 turned out to be a incredible year for me. So I would just like to say thank you for the constant support and encouragement I receive from friends, family and fans – the three f-words few artist can do without. Thank you – you know who you are.

Two new albums out:

My solo album “Tall Tales and Misfortunes” – beautifully produced, recorded and played by Per Ladegård – turned out good, and I have really enjoyed playing the album as a solo act this fall – and that tour is surely going to continue throughout 2018.

“Do You Want to Spend the Night” – recorded with the excellent power-trio Knut Roppestad and The Muskogee Hotel Blues Explosion (MHBE) – turned out a fine, explosive and poetic blues rock album.

With Emil Ljone (bass), Asbjørn Husby (drums) and some support from Marianne Eide (background vocals) and Ivar Jacobsen on keyboards – it couldn’t fail.  And the journey continues!

I’ve played 52 gigs in 2017 and is currently booking for the next year. Playing Woodyfest in Okemah, Oklahoma this summer was one of the highlights – and the release show of “DYWtStN?” was another one. To receive good and qualified (five out of six) review of both the albums in BluesNews (December -17) is also high on the list. To be able to do this is a privilege!

The world is in turmoil – “Power drunks in office – rebuilding the past for the dead” (from “Tornado Tracks”. It’s a lot at stake worth fighting for, worth raising voices for.

I choose and I challenge you to choose:  Let’s make 2018 a good one – I’ll do my part!

Happy New year – all you fine folk!

late summer 2017

Like I expected 2017 has been a good year so far.

I just came back from a small five gig tour in Oklahoma. I was fortunate enough to play for the second time at the annual singer-songwriter festival Woodyfest in Okemah, Oklahoma. It was the 20th festival celebrating the songs and legacy of the great late Woody Guthrie. Both inspiring and eventful :-).

When I came back I received two out of three albums with my original music that I set out to record and release in a year.

My solo album «Tall Tales and Misfortunes" (TTaM)and "Do You Want to Spend the Night?" (DYWtStN?)- with The Muskogee Hotel Blues Explosion (MHBE).

And I'm so happy with them both - so different and so good!

TTaM will be released on August the 30th (Stallen in Horten) and DYWtStN? on October the 18th (Bakkenteigen kulturhus).

So the rest of the year - marketing and gigging and not the least; record the album "De Nære Ting" - my first album with Norwegian lyrics - with The Rambling Rodgers.
